More than just an entry-level nonprofit job

Philly Fellows operated from 2006-2017.  Over that span 184 fellows served at 70 different nonprofit host agencies, carrying out full-time capacity-building roles.  Philly Fellows connected motivated graduates with meaningful positions where they could make a difference in the city of Philadelphia. The program offered an exciting transition from college to the community where, together with their peers, fellows gained knowledge, contributed talent, and developed leadership while experiencing the best of Philadelphia.

Overview

  • Fellows worked 40 hours/week at a partnering non-profit agency that captures their interest in a position where they could build capacity and develop new skills.
  • In addition, fellows participated in leadership and professional development curriculum throughout the year.
  • Fellows lived together in one of three houses in vibrant Philadelphia neighborhoods.
  • Aside from free housing, fellows received a living stipend, health insurance, and an education award through the AmeriCorps VISTA program.

While we are no longer operating the program, interested nonprofit hosts or prospective fellows can contact the PHENND Fellows, which has taken over our programming.
