We are grateful year-round for our wonderful fellows, their host agencies, and all of the partners who enable our program to be successful, but Thanksgiving is a special time of year to show gratitude.

We asked our Philly Fellows what they’re thankful for at this time of year, with their responses varying from the simple things they enjoy about life in Philadelphia to reflections based on their service experiences. Here’s what they have to say:

I’m thankful for my family and friends. I’m thankful to be able to do interesting and meaningful work at a non-profit my first year out of college!”

I am thankful for my family and that I have a job that has challenged me and allowed me to work with amazing people (both staff and students).”

I am thankful for my loving friends and family, as well as my entire Philadelphia community. This city’s people, sights, and sounds continue to surprise me everyday, and for that I am very thankful.”

“Friends.”

Shelter in cold weather, food when I am hungry, and financial support that provide freedom for me to pursue my goals.”

“My family.”

I’m thankful for my amazingly supportive family, and friends new and old. For cute puppies and kitties and for good books and TV shows.”

“Safety. The Syrian refugee crisis… has me reflecting on how lucky I am that when my great grandparents were refugees from eastern Europe, they were able to escape, despite many people just like them being rejected by many countries…”

We want to wish all of our blog readers a happy Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy the rest of the holiday season![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
