Every month the Philly Fellows get dinner and a conversation with a civic leader or expert in their field working to improve lives in Philadelphia. This month’s speaker was David Thornburgh, President and CEO of the Committee of 70, a nonprofit that advocates for better government.
David talked about his involvement in politics, academia and nonprofits like the Committee of 70 and got to answer fellows’ questions about graduate school, staying in Philadelphia, his accomplishments and future plans for improving government, civic engagement and knowing when to push ahead or quit. His advice? Don’t limit yourself, be sure to vote, acknowledge the improvements we’ve made and leave lots of time for self-reflection.
Thanks so much to David Thornburgh and our fellows for coming together to make Philly ever better.
